I already knew my way around a camera, but football photography found me on the sideline at Fortuna Sittard, where I was interning in communications. Something clicked that had nothing to do with the shutter. All through my Communication Management studies at Fontys, I kept shooting: photographer for my study association, learning what makes an image actually work for a brand.
By the time I landed at MVV Maastricht after graduating, that marketer's eye had become part of the craft, the kind that knows what makes a sponsor say yes or a scout pick up the phone. Six years later, I'm still there, still chasing that same split second: before the ball hits the net, before the whistle blows, before anyone else even sees it coming.
And yes, I've played the game myself since I was a kid. Don't ask me for my stats though, my talent was always behind the lens.
